I already commented on this via facebook once already so my apologies to those whom have followed a link on facebook who already saw this review. I got a reminder to review this on amazon so I’m doing that now.

We bought this to replace a broken down Badger 1 ISE disposer – these things are typical builder quality units installed in smaller homes & kitchens, as well as numerous apartments. They are good units but over time they get pretty nasty. We had always thought the 1/3 hp of the Badger 1 was a bit underpowered and were proven right a few years after moving into our house.

We replaced with the waste king L-2600 and are BLOWN AWAY by this thing. It’s so quiet and breaks down everything we’ve put into it. The stainless steel teeth & assembly are great compared to the rusty and nasty internals of the disposer we replaced. This particular waste king unit came with insulation which surprisingly really does quiet down the disposer big time; it also features 1/2 horsepower and the ability to either plug into an outlet (even comes with the plugin cord) or hardwire to the home/switch.

I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet replacement for the standard build quality disposer that usually comes with your house.
