Shift your out of control prius into neutral and guess what? YOUR ENGINE DIES INSTEAD OF YOU!

That’s right folks. When your prius decides to accelerate on it’s own, show it who’s boss – hit the neutral gear and show your car who’s boss.

Make the right choice. Choose to blow your engine/motor up instead of yourself.

And while we’re at it, what the hell ever happened to having a ignition switch, cable driven gear selectors & accelerators and standard transmissions? We never can just stick with what works can we? I’ll be just fine right here in my 2003 Cavalier with a cable driven gear shifter and gas pedal. I like to feel the engine in my feet when I drive thank you very much!

While he may not be the idealist of ideal candidates (ideal being defined as NOT republican, rather more conservative than what you would typically expect of a republican of course ) – nonetheless, Scott Brown won, and he’s better than the alternative.

Why, you ask?

Because the form of government which was designed for this great nation was NEVER supposed to have a super majority with a president of the same party in the white house. Senators like Al Franken and nutjobs like Nancy Pelosi were never supposed to be voted into the system in the first place. The failure of the American people to elect those of sound mind and judgement is at fault for the pain we’ve had to endure with these jokers in office. It was us who decided not to act, to rest on our laurels and decide that ‘someone else will vote‘. It was us who didn’t vet the candidates properly and we are paying the price.

To quote a famous story passed down from the days of the declaration of independence:

At the close of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on September 18, 1787, a Mrs. Powel anxiously awaited the results, and as Benjamin Franklin emerged from the long task now finished, asked him directly: “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” “A republic if you can keep it” responded Franklin.

With all that’s gone on this past few years, I hope we have realized as a nation that we need to pay closer attention or we’re going to lose everything we enjoy, to predators from within. Predators whom don’t care what we want. Predators who introduce and/or vote for bills their own constituents don’t even support. For example: I could care less what Barney Frank or Pelosi wants or what other congressmen from other states want, if someone represents my district and my district doesn’t want a healthcare bill; THEY BETTER NOT BE VOTING FOR IT. It IS that simple.

I digress

So what does this mean for democrats? that’s the question of the day. Pelosi is out there touting that no matter what, healthcare reform WILL go on. I’m wondering how she plans on making that happen without the super-majority. From what I’ve been able to tell it seems that the only way to do that is to pass the current bill as it stands which WON’T make many people very happy; it would almost spell disaster for the congress this year a-la 1994 all over again.

We’ll see what happens… We can only pray that this is enough to keep the sweeping “change you can believe in” at bay until we can fix this mess.

Change I can believe in entails my 1 year old son NOT having a -$186,717 net worth on the day of his 1st birthday.

“The House and Senate plan to put together the final health care reform bill behind closed doors according to an agreement by top Democrats,” House Speaker Nanci Pelosi said today at the White House.

The White House is on board with that, too, reports CBS News political correspondent Chip Reid. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs stressed today that “the president wants to get a bill to his desk as quickly as possible.”

Oh really? So because the president WANTS A BILL on his desk ASAP, means that you do whatever it takes to make it happen? – Not only that but it’s all of a sudden ok for us to make these closed door deals behind the backs of the American people?

So exactly when did he become king?

If it’s all about the president, why do you bow down to his demands for a bill on his desk asap, yet go and make him look like a total ass for promising transparency regarding health reform, and play childish games behind closed doors and away from the prying eyes of 349,000,000 people who DON’T want your stupid health care bill to pass?

Oh wait, I just figured it out… it’s because you’re afraid of us. Watch out in 2010, we’re going to vote all of you OUTTA HERE!

What’s the big idea with pushing this healthcare reform through like we’re all going to die a premature death if it doesn’t happen?

Riddle me this obama-man: How long does it take for a company providing a service to go from startup to profitability? Well let me answer that for you–YEARS!

Now tell me, how on earth do you and your cronies seem to think that congress actually has the knowledge and ability to create a gov’t sponsored healthcare program? Have they ever worked in the industry? do they actually know what works and what doesn’t? or is all this rhetoric purely based on emotions and reaction to a percieved problem?

I think by now you’ve noticed… the people have spoken. We don’t want this shit. We don’t want more taxes and we don’t want to pay for everyone else’s healthcare.

This will push out competition and put us down the path of socialistic medicine, just like canada, just like the UK. Yet another erosion of our liberties.

So aside from all that, what part of ‘enumerated powers’ don’t you understand? If you look at the constitution, nowhere does it state that it is the responsibility of the gov’t to provide for the health of the nation’s people, we are capable of doing that on our own thank you very much. You don’t even have the right to consider the actions you think you have to tak.

So in the spirit of liberty and a nation where THE PEOPLE ARE IN CONTROL OF THE GOVERNMENT…. get out of our lives. We don’t want the shit you’re selling.

In an America where Indians aren’t even called Indians anymore, what’s in a name?

Setting the stage for this is a wkowtv article on Poynette school district in Poynette, Wisconsin voting to change the 70-some year old mascot from ‘Poynette Indians’ to something else such as ‘Elk’, ‘Bears’, ‘Panthers’ or some other mascot which is unable to rise up as a group collectively and fight against the use of their race.

Let’s look at what a mascot is first:

70 years ago, Poynette high school adopted the Indian as a symbolic figure to represent and bring good luck to their team and school. Put into context, and in the spirit of common sense; common sense tells us that we’re talking football here for the most part.

Football. It’s an extremely physical, organized type of fighting game of which most Americans know of very well; and in choosing a mascot, you’re looking for something that will convey your dominance and prowess on the field; something which will effectively strike fear into your opponent.

What’s wrong with the Indian? An Indian as a mascot serves many purposes and conjures up many images:

1. Dominance and skill in times of war (football & other sports)
2. Focus, determination, and survival when not at war (striving for excellence)
3. Thoughtfulness, criticality, and harmony with all things in the world (morality & civic duties)

Here’s what I think.

I think the school board managed to overlook all of the good things we think of when we think Indian, and focus primarily on the “bad” things, which consist mostly of falling prey to the notion that “Indian” is synonomous with “Brutal Killer”, “Scalp Chaser”, or some other racially-charged image, which most of us outside of politics don’t even possess.

I think that back in the day, when the image of the Indian was coined as the mascot for Poynette High School; people had a little more common sense and were a bit more learned about things. They were able to critically think things through. Those who initially chose the Indian as a mascot I think were able to see the full picture, not just one that is consistently presented to us in a bad light by sites like this, and this, and this; lest we forget the constant droning by the news media calling for PC on a daily basis as well as the constant barrage of junk we see coming out of the Madison school district. That’s another story all together.

I think… The school board thinks their feet are held to the fire because they’re on the list.

Well, school board… Grow a pair. Take a stand instead of pandering to these idiots who can’t get over a simple word coined by some baffoon who can’t navigate and landed on the wrong continent some 500 years ago!

You want to be sooooo “progressive” there in Poynette? Draft a resolution, send it to the AICS and tell them where to go. Tell them to get over it and tell them what ‘Poynette Indians’ really means.

Do you lose sleep when you hear someone refer to Poynette as a ‘hick’ town? implying that you, and everyone else that lives there is a ‘hick’? Probably not.

I’d also bet you don’t have a problem when someone refers to ‘regular’ underwear as ‘tighty whities’ either? Yes, I suppose I could construe that to infer that all white people are ‘tight’, and henceforth become offended. Hell, might want to talk to the village board, you might be able to get them to outlaw open fires.. afterall, they billow white smoke which could be interpeted as the person whom lit the fire having the desire to burn white people.

See where this is going? Think my analogies are crazy?

What would your grandparents have said about changing the mascot because of the reasoning in this quote:

“Native Americans deserve to have an uproar about it,” said rising high school freshman Nick Butler. “It can be considered offensive.”

Basing anything solely on the possibility that someone, somewhere will be offended in the slightest bit is always a bad political move. You’d think we’d learn that by now.

Now the House and Senate are beginning a critical debate that will determine the health of our nation’s economy and its families. This process should be transparent and inclusive and its product must drive down costs, assure quality and affordable health care for everyone, and guarantee all of us a choice of doctors and plans.

Health care reform can’t come soon enough. We spend more on health care than any country, but families continue to struggle with skyrocketing premiums and nearly 46 million are without insurance entirely. There’s only one problem though. How in the world do you plan to reform healthcare in the span of only 2.5 months?

You better have some crack businessmen on your team because if I were to come out today and say I wanted to start a multi-billion dollar healthcare/insurance company 2.5 months might be enough time to write up an executive summary and maybe get the start on some market research; and you plan to be done in 2.5 months?

I don’t buy it dude, come 2012 you’ll find out the American people don’t either.

According to Janeane Garofalo, I am a “redneck racist” because I support the anti-big government tea parties that went on last week on April 15th, 2009

Which, let’s be honest about it, It’s not about bashing Democrats, it’s not about taxes, they have no idea what the Boston tea party was about, they don’t know their history at all. This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up. That is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. And there is no way around that. Wow, I’m stunned how this BLACK woman managed to get an audience full of racist, unintelligent rednecks; in TEXAS no less – to cheer for her as they do. Watch Ms. Garofalo’s argument fall to pieces as a black woman disses the president, congress and their inflammatory spending practices:

I think you have no basis to stand on, and I think YOU ma’am have no idea what THESE tea parties are all about. The boston tea party happened in 1773 and is worth making reference to as an analogy at best; so history doesn’t really matter because what we’re talking about are current issues, not parallels to historical events. Current issues which obviously do not affect you as if they did you just may have been at some of these tea parties with the rest of the REAL AMERICANS!
